JOB OVERVIEW: The purpose of this position is to assist in supervising, directing, and manage the daily operations and programs specific to the 25 acre Kinetic Park. The work is performed under the direction of the Facility Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises and participates in daily operation of Kinetic Park    
  • Supervises recreation procedures including participant registration, check in, sales, rule enforcement, ensure safe park site, customer relations, and receive, research, and resolve customer questions/comments/complaints.    
  • Assists in planning, organizing and directing on-site development and coordination of park grounds, buildings, facilities and amenities within the park site.   
  • Assists in coordinating and controlling the work unit’s operations/programs to establish operational priorities.    
  • Ensures program objectives and standards are established, attained, and congruent with overall goals.    
  • Assists in developing and supervising seasonal and volunteer staff to assist in the operation and management of Kinetic Park.    
  • Supervises subordinates with respect to accountability for performance and behavior. Responsibilities include performance evaluations, participation in hiring, training, and other personnel related functions.   
  • Assists in purchasing supplies, and materials necessary for the operation of Kinetic Park facilities, concessions, programs, and special events.    
  • Assists in creating and planning events, classes and programs for participants at Kinetic Park. This includes developing revenue and expenditure projections.    
  • Administers programs, registers participants, maintains participation records, and schedules park/facility.   
  • Assists in overseeing of concession operations either through direct sale by the County.  
  • Assists in development and revision of rules, policies, and procedures to respond to changes in operation/program needs, objectives and priorities to improve the effectiveness of managed operations/programs.    
  • Promotes the park, the programs and develops methods to expand new and existing programs.   
  • Physically participates in work required to effectively operate and maintain a safe, clean and attractive park site.   
  • Ensures facility and equipment safety, and keeps records pertaining to this.   
  • Assists in providing materials, equipment, and training to assure a safe working environment for members of immediate work unit.   
  • Prepares daily, monthly, and annual reports as required by immediate supervisor. These may include fiscal records, data management functions or maintenance records.    
  • Receives, researches, and resolves complaints from the general public.   
  • Oversees all emergency procedures in the event of an accident or discipline procedures.    
  • Performs data entry for Point-of-sale items and management of programs.   
  • Assists with development of park maintenance and management plans, including requests for proposals, negotiation of contracts and evaluation of contractors.  
  • Assists with development of marketing and public relation plans/proposals.  
  • Pursues partnerships and sponsorships for funding of programs and educational efforts    
  • Develops revenue and expenditure projections for program proposals.    
  • Assists in management of recreation software to create, update, and report participant activity registration, attendance, sales reports and fee administration.   
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Parks and Recreation or a closely related field.
  • Job Experience
    • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years directly related work experience.
  • Certifications
    • Valid motor vehicle operator's license; CPR, Firs Aid, AED certification. ServSafe Managers certification required (or to be completed within first 60 days). Certified Parks and Recreation Professional preferred.


MINIMUM SALARY- $46,096
