The Park Operations Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance of all Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation parks and facilities including, but not limited to, the landscaping and care of turf, trees, shrubs, and irrigation systems. This excludes the turf at the ball fields at Legacy Park. This position also assist with the developing and implementing a park and trail inspection plan and schedule.

Job Scope:

The position will assist in budget preparation, bid and purchase materials, directly supervise and participate in the performance evaluation process for full and part-time personnel involved in the work and maintenance of the parks and facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s degree with specialization in turf and athletic field maintenance, horticulture or related field required; at the discretion of the Department, directly related work experience may be substituted for education at the rate of three (3) years directly related work experience per one year of education; and

Minimum three (3) years’ direct experience in park maintenance required;  Valid State driver’s license required; and,  Certified Playground Safety Inspector required; and  Basic first aid, AED and CPR certification required within three (3) months of hire.
