Position Overview:
The Assistant Sports Supervisor provides leadership and coordination in developing, implementing, and supervising recreational sports programs, leagues and summer camps.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the assigned programs, including assistance in the development and execution of the program budget.
- Provide logistical support to the sports supervisor and programs in order to ensure reliable and accurate data essential for operations.
- Greet visitors and callers, handle their inquiries, and direct them to the appropriate person.
- Document important program information, maintain databases, process registrations, schedule programs, and build online registrations.
- Supervision of multiple site programs.
- Prepare athletic facilities and recreation areas.
- Recruit, lead, support, and manage assigned staff and volunteers.
- Recognize community needs and recommend new programs.
- Maintain positive interactions with internal and external constituents.
- Attend meetings and events as required.
- Keep up with current trends and developments in the field.
- Coordinate logistics for facility management.
- Occasional weekend and evening hours are required.
- Other duties as assigned by the department sports supervisor or department director.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma
- College coursework in sports management/recreation preferred.
- Preferred minimum of one year experience in recreation and/or sports management or related field.
- Working knowledge of sports rules and recreation programs.
- Prior experience working with community or school programs.
- Prior experience working with diverse group of stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Google Workspace.

Job Type: Full-time position
12 months, Beginning Salary: $42,500-$45,000
