Sports Assistant Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Assistant Sports Supervisor provides leadership and coordination in developing, implementing, and supervising recreational sports programs, leagues and summer camps.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the assigned programs, including assistance in the development and execution of the program budget. 
  • Provide logistical support to the sports supervisor and programs in order to ensure reliable and accurate data essential for operations. 
  • Greet visitors and callers, handle their inquiries, and direct them to the appropriate person. 
  • Document important program information, maintain databases, process registrations, schedule programs, and build online registrations. 
  • Supervision of multiple site programs.
  • Prepare athletic facilities and recreation areas.
  • Recruit, lead, support, and manage assigned staff and volunteers. 
  • Recognize community needs and recommend new programs. 
  • Maintain positive interactions with internal and external constituents. 
  • Attend meetings and events as required. 
  • Keep up with current trends and developments in the field. 
  • Coordinate logistics for facility management. 
  • Occasional weekend and evening hours are required. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the department sports supervisor or department director. 

Education and/or Experience: 

  • High School Diploma
  • College coursework in sports management/recreation preferred. 
  • Preferred minimum of one year experience in recreation and/or sports management or related field. 
  • Working knowledge of sports rules and recreation programs. 
  • Prior experience working with community or school programs. 
  • Prior experience working with diverse group of stakeholders. 
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Google Workspace. 


Additional Info

Job Type: Full-time position

12 months, Beginning Salary: $42,500-$45,000
