Are you passionate about sports and interested in gaining hands-on experience in event management? We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic team at a vibrant sports complex.
As the Assistant Operations Supervisor, you will work closely with the Operations Supervisor to ensure the successful execution of events and provide an exceptional experience for athletes, coaches, and spectators. The BVRC sports complex is a first-class facility dedicated to providing a positive and inclusive environment for young athletes. We offer a wide range of sports programs and events, fostering skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. As an Assistant Operations Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the successful execution of events and develop valuable skills in event management.
Starting Salary: $22.00/hr
Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day operations during programs and events, provide excellent customer service, and ensure smooth communication among staff while following policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Program Coordinators and Officials Supervisors to deliver high-quality sports programs and manage assigned operations staff.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including coaches, referees, and league/tournament officials, to ensure effective communication and coordination of event logistics.
- Assist with the continuous on-site monitoring of the sports complex from open to close, including facility access, lighting, field setup, cleanliness, and staffing.
- Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating operations staff while supporting staff development and timecard compliance.
- Help coordinate outside tournaments, manage scheduling and staffing, and support communication and invoicing efforts.
- Enforce safety protocols, respond to emergencies, and ensure proper incident reporting and risk management.
- Maintain clear communication with food service staff to ensure alignment on tournaments and league needs.
- Assist with acquiring, maintaining, and replacing AED units and supplies across all facilities.
- Help manage and maintain key equipment such as scoreboard controllers and pitching machines.
- Contribute to budget planning and help monitor operational expenditures.
- Provide support to the maintenance and food service teams during the off-season, including snow and ice removal. Perform other duties as needed to support successful operations and events.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework in sports management or a related field is a plus).
- Two years of experience in event management, sports operations, or a similar role is desirable.
- Passion for sports and a basic understanding of various sports and their rules.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and provide exceptional customer service.
- Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy and compliance with operational procedures.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
- Proficiency in using technology and software applications relevant to event management and operations.
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred but not required).
- Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
