In April 2024 the residents of Webster Groves approved Prop W a $22.1m bond issue to re-envision our P&R facilities for the next generation.  This bond issue was overwhelming supported reiterating that our residents strongly desire to have the best facilities and programs.  The first construction project is already underway with a new water park scheduled for competition by Memorial Day 2025.  Other projects starting soon are the renovation of the indoor ice rink, LED ballfield lights retrofits, solar installations, new roofs and other routine maintenance.  Also, planned and likely projects that may need more public input include spray grounds, new ball fields, new courts, skate park renovation, performance park/amphitheater.

This position is responsible for the overall administrative oversight, visioning, leadership, planning, coordinating and control of the parks and recreation services; provides for safe, sustainable and attractive active and passive-use parks and recreation opportunities for residents and the general public; and ensures effective and efficient operation of all divisions.

Director will lead a department of 17-20 full-time employees and 100+ part-time and seasonal employees.
