Parks and Recreation Superintendent

The City of Roeland Park, KS (pop. 6,700) located 5 miles from downtown Kansas City has an excellent leadership opportunity for those in the parks and recreation field. The Parks and Recreation Superintendent is responsible for the leadership and oversight of parks and recreation services. Roeland Park is a vibrant, mature urban first tier community and the Parks and Recreation Superintendent is an essential member of the City’s management team. Requires abilities in the areas of supervision, budget administration, facilities operation and maintenance and customer service. Candidates with pool operations and programming experience and AFO/CPO credentials preferred. Must work effectively with the public, vendors, co-workers, elected officials and other partner agencies. Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration or related field as well as 2 years aquatics supervisory experience is required, experience can substitute education. Salary range is $66K to $99K/annually DOQ.
