Full-time position available with the Parks & Recreation Department, Community Services Division located at Line Creek Community Center, 5940 NW Waukomis Drive. Normal Work Days/Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m. *Hours may vary based on Center needs.
• Develops, organizes, schedules and supervises assigned programs and events offered by Line Creek Community Centers athletics, youth and adult fitness, camps, adaptive recreation programs, and instructional classes.
• Assists in the publicity of activities to foster involvement for programs through social media, flyers and community meetings.
• Assists in monitoring community involvement and support of assigned programs.
• Participates in budget development processes for assigned programs.
• Monitors expenditures and ensures adherences to budget and modifications as appropriate and necessary.
• Maintains records and develops reports and related correspondence concerning new or ongoing programs and events.
• Maintains and files related reports as required. • Participates in the preparation of program marketing material including flyers, schedules of events, pamphlets and brochures; oversee distribution of published materials.
• Provides assistants to participants as necessary.
• Responds to questions regarding assigned programs.
• Assists with special programs and events as assigned.
• Monitors and evaluates quality, responsiveness, efficiency and effectiveness of assigned recreational programs.
• Presents program specifications to public school groups, Council meetings, and others in the community as assigned.
• Manages and participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives and priorities for assigned programs and services.
• Keeps abreast of trends and innovations in the field of recreation.
• Oversees the activities of staff and volunteers • Plans, assigns, trains, directs, and monitors staff duties
• Provides input to supervisor for employee performance evaluations. • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Physical Education, Exercise Sports Science, Sports Management, Fine Arts, or Wildlife Education; OR High school graduation and four (4) years of experience in recreation management, community programming, sports management, wildlife management, art programming, or therapeutic recreation. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as prescribed by the City.
Starting Salary: $20.48-$30.71/hour
