Recreation Specialist - Aquatics

The City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department is looking for an energetic, self-directed professional to join the Aquatics team! This person will assume the duties of the Recreation Specialist with our Aquatics Program which includes three outdoor aquatic facilities, two indoor year-round facilities, learn-to-swim instructional program, concession operations, and city-wide special events offered by the department.

This staff person will assist with the supervision of 100+ temporary employees and act as a member of the Activity & Recreation Center (ARC) management team. Lifeguard training, budget management, program development/marketing, and facility coordination are essential functions of this position. Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills that will result in positive relationships with intergovernmental and community organizations and the private sector. This staff person will work a flexible schedule due to programs/events or meetings in the evenings and weekends.

Salary minimum to midpoint range: $22.47 to $27.63 per hour; commensurate with training/experience.
