The City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department is adding a Recreation Specialist to the Aquatics team!

The Columbia Parks and Recreation Department is looking for an energetic, self-directed professional person to assume the duties of the Recreation Specialist with our Aquatics Program. This team of 3, comprised of a supervisor and two (2) specialists, will manage multiple outdoor aquatic facilities, two indoor year-round facilities, the learn-to-swim instructional program, concession operations, and aquatic programs and special events offered by the department.

This specialist will assist with supervising part-time aquatic staff and be a member of the Activity & Recreation Center (ARC) management team. Lifeguard training, budget management, program development/marketing, and facility coordination are essential functions of this position. Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills that will result in positive relationships with staff, intergovernmental and community organizations, and the private sector. This staff person will work a flexible schedule based on the facility's hours of operation, programs, events, and meetings.

Salary minimum to midpoint range: $22.47 to $27.63 per hour; commensurate with training/experience.
