The City of Crestwood is accepting applications for a Full-time Recreation Specialist for the Department of Parks and Recreation. Responsible for the development, marketing and implementation of a broad range of recreation programs and services including, but not limited to Special Events, and Day Camp. Maintains many statistical reports and schedules. Performs program research and market research.  Enforces department policies and procedures. Recruits, interviews and monitors program instructors and independent contractors.  Supervises part-time employees. Responsible for supervising community center and recreation staff in the absence of the Recreation Manager and Director. Work includes weeknights, weekends, holidays and irregular hours.

Salary Range: $50,182- $62,727 depending on experience. Benefits include 11 ½ paid holidays, sick and vacation time, health, dental, vision and life Insurance, and retirement benefits with LAGERS.

Education, qualifications and experience required: 

A Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation, Physical Education, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, related field is required. Two years of experience as a recreation coordinator, programs coordinator, special events coordinator, or related customer service is preferred. In lieu of above degrees, must have six years of experience as a recreation coordinator, programs coordinator, special events coordinator or related position. Must have or be able to obtain a Missouri driver's license within 30 days of hire. Certification in CPR/AED and first aid, CPRP preferred.
