RECREATION SUPERINTENDENT – AQUATICS

The City of St. Peters is hiring a Recreation Superintendent - Aquatics to lead operations at the nationally recognized St. Peters Rec-Plex, a premier community recreation and aquatic center. This leadership role is ideal for a certified aquatics professional with experience managing high-traffic indoor and outdoor pools, coordinating aquatic programming for all skill levels, overseeing a competitive swim team, and organizing large-scale special events. • Full pay range is currently $84,260.80  - $120,224.00. Starting rate $40.51-42.98 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

Normal Shift: Varies; primarily Monday-Friday, with recurring evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aquatic operations for multiple indoor and outdoor facilities, including a wide range of aquatics programming.
• Supervise and develop aquatics staff-including lifeguards, instructors, and coaches-through training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, lifeguard certifications, and aquatic risk management best practices.
• Manage program development for swim lessons, lifeguard training, water aerobics, and special events.
• Lead budget planning and purchasing for aquatics programming, equipment, and facility needs.
• Oversee and perform general inspections, repairs, and light maintenance of aquatic areas to ensure all spaces are clean, functional, and guest-ready.
• Address resident feedback, resolve customer service concerns, and promote a welcoming, safe environment.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies and promotional campaigns for aquatics and Rec-Plex programs.
• Prepare and maintain accurate printed publications and promotional materials to effectively promote recreation programs.
• Serve as Manager-on-Duty at the Rec-Plex as scheduled.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
• A Bachelor's Degree in a related field and four (4) years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Motor Vehicle Operation's license valid in the State of Missouri.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old.
• First Aid and CPR/AED certification or obtain within six (6) months.
• Completion of City Supervisory Course or obtain within one (1) year.
• Must have a Certified Pool Operator's license or obtain within six (6) months.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
